The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency mentioned it can be alarmed in regards to the significant number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie SRD and there is no fully functional office SRD focused on service the area on a regular basis. The provider position made for intervention ordeals a significant inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it hard to the office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more means to help the servicing of all shoppers and enhance entry to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
